Since 2023, the Diabetic Foot Center has been operating at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, established within the Department of Vascular Surgery. The center includes an inpatient department, a modern angiographic operating room, and also provides outpatient consultative care for patients.
Diabetic foot is a complex of symptoms that arises from complicated diabetes mellitus. The main symptoms of diabetic foot syndrome include a constant feeling of coldness in the feet, numbness, and muscle pain when walking. In more severe stages, trophic disorders and non-healing wounds develop. In such cases, a mandatory consultation with a vascular surgeon is necessary.
The primary goal of the Diabetic Foot Center at the Hospital is to prevent amputations in patients with chronic arterial diseases of the lower extremities. The center employs a comprehensive approach to treating diabetic foot syndrome. A single patient's care involves specialists from various fields: a vascular surgeon, endocrinologist, cardiologist, neurologist, general surgeon, trauma surgeon-combustiologist, and radiologist. This ensures that patients receive all necessary medical care in one place under the supervision of their attending physician.
Furthermore, internationally recognized doctors regularly visit the Diabetic Foot Center to perform surgeries and share their expertise. These are important steps aimed at enhancing the qualifications and expanding the professional knowledge of the Hospital's medical staff.
