More than 1000 nurses work at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Nurses in surgical, therapeutic and polyclinic departments of the multidisciplinary hospital differ significantly in their functional responsibilities.

According to Lyazzat Akhmedinova, chief nurse at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, kindness, compassion, and responsiveness are essential when working as a nurse.  This is because when meeting with different patients it is important to show sincere benevolence and provide highly qualified assistance in order to lead them to a speedy recovery.

- I have been working at this hospital since 2014. My general nursing career begins in 1987. I spent 11 years in the department with critically ill patients, that is, in the intensive care unit. Being able to support patients hovering between life and death, to rejoice in their recovery with them – all these enhance my love for my profession. I still remember crying when I was young, a dying old man said goodbye to me. In my thirty-six years of experience, I spent a lot of time with patients after traffic accidents, victims of stabbing and other serious injuries. There was a time we caught a period when syringes were reusable and had to be sterilized by hand every time. With such a wealth of experience, I am honored to do my favorite job," says Lyazzat Akhmedinova.

About 20% of the nurses working at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan have a special role as nurses caring for critically ill patients, in departments such as intensive care, surgery, and traumatology. It is pleasant to see an increasing number of young men showing interest in the nursing profession every day.

The Hospital of the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan has created comfortable conditions for advanced training and professional development of nurses. On a regular basis, nurses are sent for training to foreign and neighboring countries to exchange experience in mastering modern technologies in medicine. Therefore, today, nurses, as specialists in nursing, can perform multidisciplinary examinations of patients on almost the same level as physicians.

Congratulations to all nursing professionals, who have become the "Golden Bridge" between doctor and patient, on International Nurses' Day!
