Today, the most common conditions among women include cervical pathologies, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs, menstrual disorders and infertility. According to Balziya Aldysheva, a highest-category obstetrician-gynecologist at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, while some gynecological diseases were previously more often diagnosed after the age of 35-40, they are now increasingly detected in women aged 20-30. In this regard, the doctor recommends that every woman undergo a preventive gynecological examination at least once a year, even in the absence of any complaints.
As Balziya Aldysheva, who has devoted 21 years to obstetrics and gynecology, notes, infertility is now not only a medical issue but also an important social problem.
At the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, infertility is diagnosed and treated comprehensively. Couples undergo a full examination, while women are prescribed hormonal, ultrasound, infectious disease and genetic testing. When necessary, modern diagnostic and treatment methods such as hysteroscopy and laparoscopy are used. If natural conception is not possible, patients are prepared for in vitro fertilization and referred to specialized specialists.
The doctor also emphasized that when investigating infertility, it is important to assess the reproductive health of both the woman and the man. According to her, a significant proportion of infertility cases are associated specifically with the male factor. Therefore, when planning a pregnancy, men are advised to consult an urologist or andrologist and, if necessary, undergo a semen analysis and additional examinations.
In addition, Balziya Aldysheva highlighted the importance of conscious pregnancy planning. According to her, folic acid supplementation should be started not after pregnancy is confirmed, but at least three months before planning a pregnancy. This supports the proper development of the fetal neural tube and reduces the risk of congenital abnormalities.
At the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, women planning a pregnancy or in the early stages of pregnancy receive comprehensive medical care based on a one-stop-shop principle. They can receive an obstetrician-gynecologist consultation, undergo ultrasound examinations, laboratory tests, hormonal and infectious disease screening, and consult an endocrinologist, internist, geneticist, cardiologist, urologist, infectious disease specialist and other relevant specialists within a single medical institution.
