The Institute of Immunology and Human Genomics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan is Central Asia’s leading research center for fundamental and applied research in the fields of immunology, allergology, genomics, and reproductive immunology.
Established in 1985 on the initiative of Academicians U.A. Aripov, R.V. Petrov, and R.M. Khaitoff as a branch of the Institute of Immunology of the USSR Ministry of Health, it became an independent institution in 1994 and was renamed and reintegrated into the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2018. The Institute comprises 8 laboratories, 1 department, and 1 center (including the “Immunogentest” Scientific and Diagnostic Center), with a staff of 92, including 1 academician, 14 doctors of science, and 13 candidates of science, and is engaged in the development of immunogenetic technologies and cell therapy, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of immune disorders. As the only institution of its kind in the region, the institute actively implements innovations, including personalized medicine, and trains highly qualified scientific personnel.
