A reference center for angiographic technologies, equipped with the Siemens Artis Icono floor system, has launched operations at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony were led by Rustam Albayev, Head of the Medical Center of the PAA of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Sonja Weisel, Vice President of Siemens Healthineers.
The event was attended by Raushan Karabayeva, Director of the Medical Center Hospital of the PAA of the RK, Monika Iwersen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Kazakhstan, Andrea Bacher, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria, as well as representatives from Siemens Healthineers.
Speakers emphasized that the development of joint projects facilitates the introduction of modern interventional technologies and expands the capabilities of clinical practice within the country.
A demonstration of the reference center’s operations took place as part of the event. Alexandr Zemlyanskiy, Head of the Interventional Radiology Department, presented the key features of the Artis Icono floor system. According to him, the complex includes software packages for cardiac interventions, neurointerventional procedures, and vascular interventions, enabling a wide range of minimally invasive surgeries within a unified technological environment.
The system is equipped with software assistants, including vFFR technology for non-invasive assessment of coronary blood flow. This function allows for the precise determination of the degree of vascular lesions without additional invasive intervention. The equipment provides high-quality imaging with reduced radiation exposure.
The angiography system is integrated with the Hospital’s digital PACS, allowing the use of CT, MRI, and other imaging data to enhance navigation accuracy during interventions. Such integration increases clinical insights and accelerates medical decision-making.
It is worth noting that the opening of the reference center establishes conditions for the implementation of modern technologies, the professional development of medical specialists, and expanded patient access to high-tech care. The new center is viewed as a significant element in the development of interventional medicine and the modernization of clinical infrastructure.
