The educational course on PNF therapy by Shin Seung-Sab (Republic of Korea), Vice-President of the International PNF Association and certified IPNFA Advanced Instructor, has been completed at the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

PNF therapy is a modern method of kinesitherapy (movement therapy). It was developed in the USA in the early 1950s by Kabat-Kaiser (Kaiser Institute, California, USA). It is important to note that this method is aimed at restoring neuro-muscular connections with tonically strained musculature.

The ten-day course was attended by Gulzhan Kairzhanova and Nursultan Yermuratov, rehabilitation physicians at the Center for Restorative Treatment and Rehabilitation of the Medical Center Hospital of the President’s Affairs Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

- The method studied during the course, allows in the shortest time to restore the lost motor function, as well as to prevent the development of complications after injuries, stroke and severe surgical interventions. We studied the recovery of patients from lying down (due to physical or somatic health limitations) to walking independently. Also, we mastered breathing techniques. The seminar passed on a positive note and with a huge amount of knowledge gained,” says Gulzhan Kairzhanova, a rehabilitation physician.

Physicians from medical institutions in Semey and East Kazakhstan region also took part in the course. At the end of the course, that is held as part of the hospital's collaboration with the Severance-KZ International Medical Center and Severance Hospital, participants received international certificates from the PNF Association (USA).
