Sleep Laboratory

About the Laboratory

The Medical Centre Hospital of the PAA of the RK has created the ‘Sleep Laboratory’ to conduct screening diagnostics of sleep disorders (respiratory monitoring), polysomnography study and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (auto CPAP therapy). Instrumental diagnostics and treatment are conducted with the use of German quality equipment made by WEINMANN. Respiratory monitoring (SOMNOcheck micro) is the data record system for registration, recording, storage and assessment of biosignals during sleep. It is designed to detect any respiration disturbance during sleep and any contributing risk factors so as to support the diagnosis, adjust and control the therapy. The field of application is laboratory test at patient’s home or in a hospital ward. The patient is briefed on the use of the device and its functions by the physician and specialists instructed by the physician. Results of measurements are stored and analyzed by the device. Results of the analysis are displayed on the screen. Stored data can be transferred via USB port to a computed and then analyzed. Auto CPAP is the device for monitoring various parameters of breathing and ensuring automatic setting of effective therapeutical air pressure in real time for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome
